Now we never run out and when I figured out the price, it was really not any more to buy it online than in the store. I think it may be even cheaper. And it TASTES GREAT!!!!!

(More customer reviews)We try to avoid snacks. Well, they're almost impossible to avoid, so we try to control the damage. We eat few snacks and try to make sure that the snacks we do consume have some nutritional value other than just empty calories. One such snack is popcorn. It's a whole grain product containing vitamins, minerals and fiber. The only problem with popcorn is all the stuff people put on it. So, we try to get popcorn with a minimum of extra added ingredients. For convenience, we like the microwave bags.
Our choice for popcorn is Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop! which we buy in 32-bag boxes at our local warehouse store. We can pop a bag and the two of us can consume the entire bag and only ingest 100 calories each. Furthermoe, it will bring each of us 16% of our daily fiber needs. Plus, it's sugar free. As far as snacks go, this is a good one. But, we still try to limit our intake.

The corn is more crisp than most microwave bagged popcorn.
Because it's still on the cob, it doesn't flower out as much, rather it's a little more dense.
The kernel skin seemed less tough and I didn't get any stuck in my gums.
About 80% popped, which is pretty good.
This is organic, and comes from Kansas.
It's a little pricey, but what with the recent reports of slightly higher rates of organ failure from GMO corn, and falsified research data from some GMO corn producers, it's nice to see a tasty, organic alternitive.

(More customer reviews)These are an interesting and tasty alternative to microwave popcorn, well worth trying. The spicy version is not very spicy, but has a little kick. Be careful to even out the contents of the bag before microwaving and to make sure the bag rotates freely in microwaves with a turntable. Microwave time is short, about 90 seconds. They come out hot and fresh tasting. Pieces are relatively small, about an inch square. They have a less intense pork flavor than the best pork rinds, but having them hot helps compensate. Amazingly, pork rinds are becoming "diet food." They have no carbs, there is a lot of air in them that minimizes the calories for the volume, and relatively small quantities are satisfying. Anyway, it is a good story to go with a tasty snack.

(More customer reviews)I'm with the review in favor of this popcorn. again, no idea what the negative reviewer is talking about. indeed, it's not organic, so they're comparing apples to oranges. and anyway, they're nuts saying it's fake and salty. ON THE CONTRARY. I've spent 12 yrs on the west coast, half in LA where I learned how to eat very healthily. half in SF where I went more organic, less meat and avoiding preservatives. I lucked out randomly trying it from a small grocer here in Manhattan and am completely impressed. absolutely tastes superb. and I never ate microwave popcorn since it generally wigs me out -- the chemicals, stench, etc. this one uses subtle but absolutely enough flavor and tastes VERY natural. I've raved about it to family, who can't believe it also doesn't leave your microwave smelling - at all! that is a miracle, and testament to it's decent ingredients.

(More customer reviews)When this product first came out(2001-2003?), it was the most delicious popcorn I had ever tasted. It tasted just like real corn right off the cob, hot and in popcorn form. It was so good I bought it by the case and sold it at my gourmet espresso bar, gave it away to family & friends and munched out on it at least 2 nights a week. I stocked up enough to last a couple years. When I ran out in 2003-4?, I couldn't find it anywhere. I called Redenbacher and they said they had discontinued the product. God, I was so bummed out!! Recently I went on line searching around, and there it was! on Amazon. I couldn't believe it! I ordered the $27 case and couldn't wait for it to come. After opening, I ran to the microwave, popped my first bag, opened it and immediately knew something was wrong. The popcorn was bright yellow with butter dripping down the inside of the bag. Since I don't like extra butter popcorn, I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. The original was a very light butter, smelled like corn and was sweet & fluffy. I put a handful in my mouth and it tasted like super, duper, movie theater butter popcorn. This popcorn tasted NOTHING like the original version of corn on the cob. For those of you that tasted the ORIGINAL (first) receipe, I'm sorry to say that this popcorn is a total disappointment. I was so upset, I took the entire case to our local food bank. I then called Redenbacher (Conagra)and they confirmed with their superiors that the recipe had been changed when they re-introduced the product back into the market this past year. PLEASE, if you loved the original recipe and you know what I'm talking about, write to Conagra Foods and ask them to bring back the original recipe!! The reps at Conagra said customer demand may help bring it back. If you are looking for the corn on the cob from the early 2000's, DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. It's not worth the cost of the shipping. Just go buy any Orville extra butter popcorn product and it will taste the same as this. I don't understand why company's mess with a good thing. Please join me and voice your opinion to the manufacturer!
