(More customer reviews)This popper looks great but is poorly designed. Upside was it was less than $20. The biggest problem is that over the few minutes of popping time, about 1/3 of the kernels are ejected.
I've tried:
- Stale and fresh popcorn(not by design, I just had some stale corn...:))
- Different brands of popcorn
- Preheating the popper for ~5 minutes
- smaller and larger than recommended batches.
None of these things seem to have made a difference.
For kicks I 're-popped' the the ejected kernels from a recommended sized batch and got 2 more cups of popped corn out of it.
I bet a deeper or larger diameter well would fix this problem but oh well.
This popper is very lightweight, which doesn't inspire longevity.

More unpopped kernals than popped ones. Takes three batches to get medium sized bowl of popcorn. Dies within a couple of months. Horrible machine.

Ideal for everything from a healthy mid-day snack to a delicious treat during movie night with friends, this hot-air popcorn maker prepares hot, crispy popcorn in minutes. Simply add one full scoop, using the included measuring cup, place a large-size bowl (not included) under the spout, and turn it on. West Bend 82416 Air Crazy 4 Quart Corn Popper Review

(More customer reviews)My family wanted to try healthier non-microwave popcorn, but we weren't terribly impressed with the ones at our local Walmart and Target. As you see from the reviews for the Pop-Lite, that one has no on/off switch, whereas this one does!
I actually stumbled on this at Marshalls for $19.99 and liked the look much better! We have only popped with it once so far, but it popped all but 4 kernels out of a 1/3 cup unpopped kernels. Fed my family of 4 well for a snack with a little melted butter and salt. Did not use the butter melter option on the machine. Just used the microwave to melt the butter- easier clean up and less concern about ruining a necessary part of the popper.
Popcorn does come out blazing hot and with continued spiral force from the popping, but it is all ok, kids thought it was a great show. So far, I am just as happy as the 300+ people who commented on the Pop-lite, and probably happier because I have an on/off switch.
