(More customer reviews)Before I get into the meat and potatoes of my review, I'd like to point out that the front of the packet reads, "Sweet & Salty." THERE IS NO SALT IN THIS PRODUCT. The ingredients listed are: Popping corn, coconut oil, sugar, beta carotene.
Now, if you make this in your Whirley Pop according to the directions on the back of the packet, the sugar caramelizes. Not only does the sugar caramelize, but the crank is VERY hard to turn once the sugar starts melting; this makes it very easy, indeed, to break the delicate, plastic crank on your lid. What you ultimately end-up with is sticky, brown popcorn, and a BIG mess to clean out of your pot and off of the lid (and cleaning that lid isn't exactly what I'd call "easy"). My daughter, the Princess of Kettle Corn wrinkled her nose when she saw what it looked like, but being the trooper that she is, she ventured a taste...and (drum-roll, please) she declared, "Nope. That DOES NOT taste like kettle corn!"
So, after tossing the whole first batch and soaking the pot for an hour to get some kernels "unglued," I tried again. I opened the side of the packet that contains the popcorn and sugar FIRST (being careful not to open the oil side) and emptied the contents into a wire mesh strainer over a bowl. I shook the strainer so that ALL of the sugar was separated from the popcorn kernels. I reserved the sugar and mixed a little popcorn salt with it. THEN, I opened the oil side and put that into the Whirley Popper along with the (now sugar-free) popcorn kernels. I popped the popcorn as I usually would. When it was finished, and still VERY hot, I took a large bowl with a tight-fitting lid and filled the bottom with hot popcorn; I sprinkled the sugar/salt mixture over this. Then I added more popcorn; then more sugar/salt, repeating the process until the bowl was filled to within two inches of the top. Then I put the lid on the bowl, and tossed and turned and shook until I was fairly certain that the popcorn was adequately covered with the sugar/salt mixture. My daughter tasted it and liked it much better.
My family LOVES our Whirley Popper and Wabash Valley Farms popcorn, but this product (in my opinion) is a dud, and an expensive one at that. If you want my advice, use the Real Theater Popcorn packet and sprinkle some extra-fine sugar on it in the bowl (not the popper) while it's still hot -- you won't have to clean burned sugar out of the pot (and gunk off of the lid), you'll save money and you'll have fresh, non-microwaved kettle corn.

We had a small glitch with the popper part of the machine when it first arrived but the company was absolutely wonderful when we called and they replaced the whole thing - no questions asked. This popper makes real, honest to gosh movie popcorn. We use coconut oil, white popcorn kernels and a little flavorcal. Best purchase we've made from amazon yet.

I recently tried Sticky Toffee Pudding in the 4 oz room spray and it's definitely become my favorite -- I can't get enough of it! On the other hand, my mother loves the Waffle Cone and I ordered her 2 bottles from the Demeter website ($14 each, plus flat rate shipping) and they came smelling nothing like the waffle cone she loves. It almost smells rancid like whiskey. There's no problem with exchanges -- that's what their website says anyway. I don't know if it's the room spray version that is bad or if they reformulated, but I'm going to send it back and pay the extra for the cologne version.
As for other scents I've tried:
Sugar Cookie - Very very sweet. A little too sweet for me.
Brownie - An artificial chocolate smell, but not offensive. Doesn't last very long.
Graham Cracker - Hard to find the scent in the sea of alcohol in the product.
Waffle - Very maple syrup-y.
Strawberry Ice Cream - Very artificial owerpowering scent. Almost like a very concentrated strawberry Quik. (Strawberry milk powder brand.)
Scottish Shortbread - There is some sort of oil in the mixture and when it arrived it was nearly frozen. I didn't care for this smell either. sort of an almond cookie smell but also masked by the alcohol smell.
Mojito - Ick. My mom received this as a promo item somewhere and it smells like a hospital to me! I'm not sure which component of Mojito smell is doing that to it, but I'd pass.
There's a Jelly Belly line scent that has something to do with blackberries. It was a pretty harsh scent. Not light and airy -- very contrived and strong. Over the top but not in a good way. Same goes for the Blueberry Muffin in the Jelly Belly line.
Vanilla Cake Batter - Not very exciting. Very vanilla, not very cakey.
I reviewed the Rubber and Mesquite scents on Amazon somewhere -- pass on those.
Before you invest the money, go to the Demeter site and get the $5 1/2 oz splash version of the scent you like. Or just get the Sticky Toffee Pudding. ;)

I filled this bowl with the popcorn garland to give the illusion of a full bowl of popcorn. Used to decorate our new theater room (is on a nearby shelf). I like that the popcorn is actually a string/garland. Easy to pick up if the cats knock it out of the bowl!

(More customer reviews)These towls are very very durable and thick. The tag says to wash them in warm water. I wish I could have found these a long time ago. They go great with my color scheme in my kitchen and wish I could find some that are burgandy or red and white, then my set would be complete. These will last a long time if properly washed and taken care of. I would definately say for a few years maybe if you're good with fabrics.

(More customer reviews)This product is great in theory only. The promise of getting the taste and crunch of a pan-popped corn was a pipe dream. The design is poor. The lid traps the steam inside during the cooking process and results in tough, rubbery, styrofoam-textured corn. Plus, the popped corn had a weird taste that is indescribable.
We are loyal Cuisinart customers and have used the same model coffee maker for over 10 years. When one wears out, we quickly purchase another of the same. We were very shocked that Cuisinart developed such an under-performing product. And, as popcorn lovers, our disappointment was huge.

It snaps in place, but the lips that hold it are not big enough. The "old maids" fall through the holes just fine.
